DJ Asif expresses a whole variety of different types of musical styles. Influenced from an early age by traditional Asian music and its rhythms to learning the guitar and playing in a punk band and then moving on to experiment with hip-hop and electronic music. Asif crafted his sound with exploring his Eastern culture with that of the West.

The multicultural factor opened up musical possibilities that could be produced from other cultures to create new exciting sounds Urbanised from the Asian Underground scene, DJ Asif is the latest spin-master and producer to join the ranks of the universal dance world. Together with his project Fusing Naked Beats, Asif blends Arabic rhythms and Eastern vibes with his background in hip-hop and deep beats transporting his sound all over Europe from deck to deck.

At the age of 24, he has already achieved more than what most DJs would hope to muster-up in a lifetime. Not only a DJ, Asif's main strength lies in music production, as well as being an accomplished guitarist and songwriter. His commitment to music is reflected in his degree BA in Commercial Music which he received in 2004.

An underground debut album titled 'Stolen Generation' was released last year on Asif's own label 'Just Play Records' which received great reviews in Europe and the USA. This took Fusing Naked Beats on a year long tour with many special guest UK artists on the album which included Najma Akhtar, Ms.Kat, DJ Hits, and MRT as well as playing at major festivals across Europe. Having already supported acts such as Coolio, Leftfield, Blak Twang and Fun-Da-Mental, Asif most recently has secured a monthly residency at the award winning club-night Shaanti. Not only that but Asif has also scored and contributed vocals to a number of short movies including Another Day, Alma Mater and Red Dakini.

Asif has been involved in various film sessions including the British movie, Bollywood Queen as well as having written and produced 'The Crunch E.P' a 5 track dance electronic breakbeat EP which has firmly established DJ Asif as a serious contender within the Asian underground/dance market. DJ Asif also performed at the Winterthur International Short Film Festival in Switzerland with his band " Fusing Naked Beats Sound System" which celebrated contemporary British music through film, which received critical acclaim. As a result, he is now currently involved with many other projects for 2005 with the British Council Having had serious airplay on Radio 1,BBC Asian Network, and many underground UK and European radio stations.

'Digital Asia', the track from the forthcoming album also titled Digital Asia has received constant airplay by Bobby Friction and Nihal on their peak time BBC Radio one show every week. Digital Asia was placed at number 6 on Radio One's Bobby Friction and Nihal's top ten tracks of 2004! At present DJ Asif and MRT are working on their forthcoming album titled 'Digital Asia' which will appear in mid 2005. This is highly anticipated to be their best work to date.

With a succession of singles and albums under his belt for next year and a distinctive trademark sound, DJ Asif is continually looking for challenges and ways to expand and make his creative mark in the music industry.
