Recordings like ‘Ijoya’ and ‘The Way We Blow’ with new mixes created at JJC’s (AKA Skillz) renowned studio, see Weird MC introducing new club styles into her music whilst retaining her distinctive Afrobeat edge with lyrics in both English and Yoruba proving that ain’t nobody knows how to beat down the borders like the Weird MC. She’s exploring the unique frisson between the ancient talking drum and 21st Century DJ and MC science. Lately the Weird MC has been exploring a new Afro/Gospel strand as well. Is there no end to this woman’s creativity? |
